1Centre for Land Warfare Studies (CLAWS) is commencing correspondence pre-course for the promotion exams Part B and Part D with effect from 01 November 2014. Promotion exam correspondence pre-course cell has been established at CLAWS premies at Army Parade Ground, Delhi Cantt.

2Pre-course for promotion exams will primarily be distant learning with a provision for online interaction.


3To provide quality study material and guidance to service officers appearing in promotion exams Part B and Part D (less special to Corps / Arm) to enable them to pass the same with ease and confidence.

Conduct of Pre Course

4The Correspondence pre-course will aim to build upon the pre-course study undertaken by the officers. It will be directed to channelise the focus and thought process of the enrolled officers towards holistic preparation for the subject exam.

5The conduct of the correspondence courses will be through the despatch at regular intervals of study material and question papers for subjects as applicable to the selected examination.

6These question papers will be set by the selected Subject Experts on the pattern of the actual examination and cover all important aspects of subjects in a graduated manner.

7The final test paper in each subject will cover the entire syllabus for the subject and will virtually be a full dress rehearsal just before the actual examination.

8Students will be required to answer the test papers in their own time under examination conditions and send the answer sheets to the CLAWS.

9Each answer sheet will be corrected by the concerned Subject Expert and returned to the officer along with detailed comments and personal guidance / notes.

10Beside this, the suggested answers to the test papers will also be sent for guidance of the students.

11Current Affairs will be issued in two volumes to capture the latest happening in international and national geo-political scenarios.

12Enrolled officers will be provided latest compilation of CLAWS web articles on their email address.


13Enrolment to PECPCC is open to all service officers at anytime during the currency of the respective pre-course, i.e. November to April for Part B and February to August for Part D. Interested officers are required to apply on the prescribed application form for PECPCC, which can be downloaded from web site: http://www.claws.in

14Fee . PECPCC will be working on "no profit no loss basis" basis and the subscription charges have been designed accordingly. These are as follows :-

Part B Rs. 2000/- Tactics / Adm / Mil Law “ Rs. 500/- each. Mil History / Current Affairs “ Rs. 600/- each.
Part D Rs. 2500/- Tactics / Adm / Mil Law “ Rs. 600/- each. Mil History / Current Affairs “ Rs. 700/- each.
Course Material

15Course Material will include amplification notes for each of the subjects, three sets of questionnaires along with suggested solutions and Subject Experts comments / notes.

Programme of Work and Correspondence.

16 Programme of work will be intimated along with the Member's Registration Number, to each of the enrolled officers soon after they subscribe to PECPCC.

17All correspondence with PECPCC should be done directly by the Officers on the stated contact details. Officers visiting Delhi are welcome to interact with the faculty at PECPCC on any working day between 1000 hours and 1600 hours, after prior coordination.
